Homicide detectives have launched a major investigation following the grim discovery of a woman's body inside a home in regional New South Wales.
Police Forced Entry After Welfare Concern
Officers from the Hume Police District were called to a residence on Joshua Street in Goulburn at approximately 7am on Saturday, January 3, 2026. The police attendance followed reports expressing concern for the welfare of an occupant.
Upon arrival and receiving no response, the attending officers were forced to make entry into the property. Inside, they located the body of a woman. Police have not yet formally identified the deceased; however, they believe she was aged in her 40s.

A significant crime scene was immediately established at the address as the investigation moved into a critical phase. The inquiry is now being led by detectives attached to both the Hume Police District and the specialised State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
