Machete-Wielding Man Hospitalised After Slicing Hand in Northbridge Rampage
A man is currently recovering in hospital after accidentally slicing his own hand while allegedly wielding a machete during a violent rampage through Northbridge in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident, which involved the man and his brother, has led to arrests and court appearances, with both individuals now facing serious legal consequences.
Alleged Attack on Francis Street
Police reports indicate that around 2:20 AM, a 24-year-old man armed with a machete and his 23-year-old brother, who was carrying a tyre iron, chased two men down Francis Street in Northbridge. The alleged targets managed to escape the pursuit and sought refuge inside a nearby karaoke bar, where security personnel promptly blocked the entrance to prevent further escalation.
Arrests and Court Proceedings
Approximately 25 minutes after the initial incident, officers arrested the brothers on Lake Street. During a search of their Mazda vehicle, police discovered a tyre iron. Both men faced court this morning, with the 24-year-old appearing via video link from hospital as he recovers from his hand injury. As part of their bail conditions, the brothers have been banned from entering Northbridge.
