CCTV released after East Corrimal home invasion

Police have renewed their appeal for public assistance to identify a man following a violent home invasion in East Corrimal that left two people with head and facial injuries.

Incident details

The alleged aggravated break and enter occurred around 7am on February 9, 2023, when two men reportedly entered a unit in East Corrimal and assaulted the occupants. A 37-year-old woman sustained facial injuries, while a 39-year-old man suffered head injuries. Both were taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment.

During the incident, the intruders allegedly stole two gold rings and a watch before fleeing the scene on an e-bike.

Police investigation

In the same month as the incident, police arrested a 42-year-old man and charged him with special aggravated break and enter. Now, on Thursday, May 21, police have released CCTV footage of a second man believed to have been present at the location and are seeking the public's help to identify him.

A NSW Police spokesperson described the man as tall with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing navy shorts, a black Nike-brand hoodie, a red hat, a black face mask, and black sunglasses. Police believe he may be able to assist with their inquiries.
