A 16-year-old boy charged with sexual assault in Adelaide's southern suburbs allegedly took 'calculated steps' to lure a vulnerable child into a toilet block, a court has heard.
The teenager, arrested in February, faces three counts of rape, one count of taking a person by force, and one count of aggravated assault over an incident at a park in Flagstaff Hill.
A prosecutor told the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday that the alleged assault involved pre-planning and a violent attack, with the accused seen on CCTV running from the scene.
The prosecutor argued the case should be tried in an adult court due to the seriousness of the charges, describing the alleged offending as 'on the most serious end of the scale'.
Magistrate Michael Jandy refused the application, and the teenager will return to the Adelaide Youth Court next month.
