Secret footage of a police raid on a bikie gang clubhouse has provided chilling new insights into the 27-year-old murder mystery of Kalgoorlie woman Lisa Govan. The hand-held video, released exclusively to The West Australian, is featured in new episodes of the true-crime docuseries Catching Lisa’s Killer: Fear and Murder in Kalgoorlie.
The two episodes, released four years after the original seven-part series, expose flaws in the initial investigation and focus on the Club Deroes Outlaw Motorcycle Gang. Ms Govan, 28, was last seen partying with Deroe bikies at their Boulder Road clubhouse on October 8, 1998. She was spotted standing outside the clubhouse three hours after being seen kissing senior Deroe Andrew Edhouse, a notorious outlaw who has beaten multiple murder charges.
The fresh episodes detail new information from this year’s inquest into Ms Govan’s disappearance, reconstructing her final hours with precision. The series describes the brutality of her death, as recounted by a key witness, and offers a new lead on where her body may be located.
“The footage from inside the clubhouse is quite damning,” said Ben Harvey, The West’s chief reporter. “Viewers will be appalled by what they see. And they will be perplexed by a new lead about where her body may have been taken.” The raid occurred six days after Ms Govan vanished.
