Man dies after stabbing and car crash in Clyde

A man has tragically died after being involved in a violent stabbing and a serious car accident in Melbourne's southeast on Monday afternoon.

Altercation Leads to Stabbing

The incident began on Carrera Crescent in Clyde at approximately 3:30pm on Monday. Police allege an altercation took place between two men, during which the victim was stabbed.

Following the attack, the injured man left the location in a vehicle. His journey ended abruptly a short time later when he was involved in a collision on Clyde-Five Ways Road.

Emergency Response and Arrest

The man sustained life-threatening injuries from both events and was airlifted to hospital for urgent treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he later died from his injuries.

Victoria Police swiftly responded to the scene on Carrera Crescent and arrested a 27-year-old man. He is currently in custody and will be interviewed by detectives.

Ongoing Homicide Investigation

The Homicide Squad has taken charge of the investigation and is working to piece together the exact circumstances of the incident. Police have stated they are not looking for any other individuals in relation to the stabbing at this stage.
