Burglar Jailed After Leaving Phone at Crime Scene

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a handbag from a home in Edwardstown, Adelaide, and leaving his mobile phone near the crime scene.

Police say the man entered the Fuller Street property about 8pm yesterday and took the resident's handbag, which contained her car and house keys, phone, and bank cards. The woman was in the process of moving out and had left the house open.

The suspect fled on a bicycle, but the victim later found two mobile phones on the footpath where she had seen the offender get on the bike. Police used one of the phones to identify the suspect and obtained a search warrant.
