A man with a history of domestic violence, who was allegedly caught reoffending less than a day after being spared jail, is now seeking to be released on bail for his latest charges.
Fresh Charges and Court Appearance
Ryan Michael Tucker, 35, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday facing a string of new allegations. The charges include multiple breaches of violence restraining orders and protective bail conditions, aggravated stalking, and possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property.
This court appearance comes after 7NEWS and The West Australian revealed that the alleged victim had attempted to report an incident at the Perth Police Station on Sunday night but was reportedly turned away.
Bail Application and Police Apology
During the hearing, Tucker's lawyer requested a one-week adjournment to prepare a formal bail application. The prosecution confirmed it would strongly oppose any attempt to release Tucker back into the community when the matter returns to court next Tuesday.
In a significant development, WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch issued a public apology on Monday to Tucker's alleged victim. The Commissioner expressed regret for the humiliation she experienced when officers initially declined to take her report.
The man at the centre of the case, Ryan Tucker, was remanded in custody and will remain there until his next court date.
