A multi-vehicle crash on the Kwinana Freeway in Success left a 27-year-old woman trapped under a truck, causing severe delays for Perth commuters on Wednesday evening.
The woman is in a serious but stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital. Two men and a child were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services reported that the woman was trapped in a car beneath the truck. Another vehicle involved in the crash reportedly spun off into nearby bushland.
The northbound lanes of the freeway were closed from Rowley Road to Beeliar Drive, causing significant peak-hour delays, but have since reopened. Main Roads also warned of flooding on the Kwinana Freeway at Armadale Road in Jandakot, near the crash site, as Perth experienced heavy rain throughout the day.
