Driver Fined Over M1 Road Rage Crash That Hospitalised Rider

A motorist involved in a road rage incident on the M1 Pacific Motorway that left a motorcyclist in hospital will face only a fine, Queensland Police have confirmed.

The crash occurred on the northbound lanes at Helensvale on the Gold Coast around 8:15am on Tuesday. Dashcam footage shows a blue Nissan X-Trail swerving into the middle lane alongside a motorcycle, forcing the rider to change lanes to avoid a collision.

The sequence continued across lanes before the motorcyclist was thrown onto the bitumen. The 24-year-old female rider sustained injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
