Brown Brothers Launches Sustainable Aluminium Prosecco for Summer

Brown Brothers has introduced a new aluminium bottle for its signature Prosecco, offering a planet-friendly alternative for summer 2025. The resealable, recyclable format caters to Australians' demand for portable wines that stay cooler longer and reduce environmental impact.

The King Valley Prosecco NV inside the aluminium bottle is identical to the Brown Brothers Prosecco Premium Brut. Winemaker Geoff Alexander confirmed that extensive trials over two years ensured the wine's integrity, flavour profile, and effervescence are perfectly preserved in the new format.

Emma Brown, 4th generation family member and Head of Innovation, highlighted sustainability benefits: the bottle is 40% lighter, saving 400kg per pallet and lowering emissions across the supply chain. The aluminium is also reusable, supporting the company's sustainability journey.

The format addresses practical barriers of glass bottles, which are heavy, fragile, and non-resealable. The resealable closure allows consumers to enjoy a glass and save the rest, making it ideal for outdoor events like picnics and pool parties.

Initially a limited-edition release, the aluminium Prosecco has received positive feedback. Emma Brown noted that the company is exploring long-term integration of aluminium into its portfolio, citing its innovation and alignment with brand values.
