Whether you are a fan of a classic margherita, a loaded meat lovers, or something a little more adventurous, few foods inspire as much passion as pizza. On The Morning Show on Wednesday, the hosts stepped into the kitchen with one of Australia’s leading pizza experts, Lorenzo Tron, owner of Melbourne favourites Shop 225 Pizza and Il Caminetto. As well as running award-winning venues, Tron is helping judge the Australian Pizza Championships, where the country’s best pizzaioli battle it out for national bragging rights.

He will teach Larry and Kylie the secrets behind perfect pizza dough, put their tossing skills to the test, and judge their creations in a friendly competition where creativity counts just as much as flavour.
Ingredients
Makes 4 pizza bases
- 1kg of flour
- 600ml of water
- 6g of fresh yeast
- 25g of salt
- 20ml of EVOO
Method
- Dissolve the yeast in water.
- Add flour slowly while mixing.
- Add salt and mix it.
- Add oil and mix it until smooth.
- Ball it up into balls to your favourite weight and let it rest for 6-8 hours.
- In a domestic oven, set the oven to 205 degrees forced fan; in a wood fire, 300-315 degrees, and cook until golden.
