A woman in her 40s sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision at Cliftleigh on Wednesday afternoon, according to emergency services.
Police and paramedics were called to Main Road around 5:15pm following reports of a two-car collision. The woman was trapped in her vehicle for an extended period, requiring a rescue vehicle to free her.
A spokesperson for the state's ambulance service said she suffered injuries to her legs, chest, and abdomen, and was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition shortly before 6pm.
The other driver involved in the crash reportedly sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
