Motorcycle rider dies in Yarrawa Road crash

A motorcycle rider has tragically died following a single-vehicle crash on a rural road west of Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley.

Emergency Response to Yarrawa Road

Emergency services were called to Yarrawa Road at Yarrawa just before 10:40 am on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The location is approximately 34 kilometres southwest of Muswellbrook.

Upon arrival, officers from the Hunter Valley Police District discovered a motorcycle that had left the roadway and collided with a pole.

Rider Succumbs to Serious Injuries

Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics who provided immediate treatment at the scene, the male rider could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the location.

The man, who is believed to be in his 70s, had not been formally identified at the time police released their statement. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have established a crime scene as part of their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The investigation is ongoing.
