A man is fighting for life after a serious collision on a major Brisbane motorway this afternoon, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
Emergency Response on Logan Motorway
Queensland Police confirmed they were called to the Logan Motorway at Forest Lake just before midday, around 11.55am. Reports indicated a crash involving two vehicles, with one driver outside his car at the time of impact.
Initial police inquiries suggest a blue Kia Cerato, which had stopped in the emergency bay, was struck by a white Kia Cerato. The male driver, who was the sole occupant of the blue Kia, was outside his vehicle when the collision occurred.
Life-Threatening Injuries and Investigation
The man sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the white Kia Cerato, identified as a woman in her 30s, is assisting police with their investigation into the circumstances of the crash. She was not physically injured.
Police Appeal for Crucial Footage
Authorities have issued a public appeal for information, urging any motorists with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Investigators are particularly keen to obtain:
- Video of the incident itself.
- Footage of either the blue or white Kia Cerato in the moments leading up to the crash.
This evidence is considered vital to understanding the sequence of events that led to the serious collision.
The Queensland Police Service has stated that their investigations remain ongoing. Motorists were advised to expect delays in the area as forensic officers examined the scene.
