Police have launched a major investigation following the alleged fatal stabbing of a man in a remote Northern Territory community.
Early Morning Tragedy in Laramba
Emergency services were called to a home in the community of Laramba in the early hours of Friday morning. The call came through at approximately 4.40am on Friday after reports of an aggravated assault.
Laramba, also known as Napperby, is a remote Aboriginal community located roughly 205 kilometres west of Alice Springs.
Victim Succumbs to Chest Injuries
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was found with serious chest injuries. Clinic staff provided immediate aid and transported him to the local health clinic for emergency treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the man's injuries were too severe. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police Investigation Underway
Northern Territory Police have established a crime scene at the location and have commenced a thorough investigation to piece together the circumstances that led to the man's death.
