A man has died following a targeted shooting at a residential property in a suburb south of Brisbane in the early hours of Friday morning.
Emergency Response to Gunfire
Queensland emergency services were first called to a home on Rowanda Street in Slacks Creek at approximately 1.15am after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, paramedics discovered a man with critical injuries.
The 41-year-old victim received immediate treatment at the scene for his life-threatening wounds. Paramedics then rushed him to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be saved and was declared dead a short time later.

Detectives have declared a crime scene, with police and forensic crews remaining on Rowanda Street to gather evidence. While charges are yet to be laid, investigators have stated that this was a targeted incident.
