The new search effort is focused on a 1.3 square kilometre area within the dense bushland of Mount Buffalo National Park near Porepunkah. Specialist crews and cadaver dogs have been deployed to comb through the challenging terrain as part of this intensive operation.
Police have gathered over 2,000 pieces of information related to the alleged attack that resulted in the deaths of two police officers and left another wounded. The investigation continues to develop as authorities pursue every possible lead in this high-profile case.
Targeted Sydney Home Firebombed Twice in 24 Hours
In a separate incident, arsonists have targeted a Sydney home with firebombs twice within a 24-hour period. The unoccupied property on Macquarie Street in Greenacre was first attacked around 1am on Monday morning, then struck again just before 11.30pm that same day.
Property and Investigation Details
The targeted home had recently been sold on December 31st, with today marking the settlement date. Under New South Wales law, this timing means the seller of the property will likely be responsible for covering the damage costs resulting from these attacks.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the house fires following both incidents, which authorities believe are connected. Police are also investigating potential links to another firebombing that occurred nearby on Gallipoli Street in Condell Park on Saturday night.
