Teen Kidnapped, Forced to Withdraw Cash in Melbourne's West
Teen kidnapped and robbed in Melbourne's west

A terrifying ordeal unfolded in Melbourne's western suburbs last week when a teenage boy was allegedly kidnapped and robbed by four offenders.

The Saturday Night Attack

The incident occurred around 10.45pm on Saturday, November 8, as the 16-year-old victim walked along Hollis Way in the suburb of Truganina. According to police reports, four unknown individuals approached the teenager in what began as a frightening confrontation.

Forced Withdrawals and Electronic Transfers

The situation escalated quickly when the boy was allegedly assaulted and then forced into what investigators believe was a stolen vehicle. Inside the car, his captors made two specific demands: that he withdraw cash from an ATM and transfer additional funds electronically.

After complying with the demands, the victim was eventually released approximately four kilometres away on Edgevale Way in the neighbouring suburb of Tarneit. Fortunately, he sustained only minor injuries during the traumatic experience.

Police Investigation Leads to Charges

Victoria Police launched an immediate investigation into the kidnapping that has since yielded significant results. Two 17-year-old boys have been charged with multiple offences including kidnapping, false imprisonment, robbery, theft and assault.

The legal outcomes for the accused have already diverged, with one teenager remanded in custody while the other has been granted bail. Both are scheduled to appear at a children's court at a later date.

Police confirmed that their investigation remains ongoing and have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
