A Rutherford man is facing serious charges following an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred in the Maitland area over the weekend.
The 34-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, and destroying or damaging property, according to NSW Police.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were called to a residence following reports of a domestic violence-related assault. Upon arrival, police spoke with a woman who had sustained visible facial injuries.
Following initial investigations at the scene, the Rutherford man was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station for processing.
