Concerns are mounting for George Young, aged 67, who was last seen on Stafford Street in Gerroa around 6pm on Friday, March 6, 2026. His disappearance was reported to Wollongong police on Monday, prompting an urgent response.

According to witness accounts, the PolAir helicopter has been actively flying and hovering over areas including Mount Keira, Mount Ousley, and Mount Pleasant since approximately 8:30am on Tuesday, March 10. The aerial search is part of a coordinated effort to locate Mr. Young, whose absence is described as out of character.
"Police hold concerns for his welfare," stated a NSW Police spokesperson. "George is believed to frequent the Wollongong, South Coast, and Greater Illawarra areas." He is described as Caucasian, about 170 centimetres tall with a medium build and grey hair. When last seen, he was wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and slippers.
