Pinjarra Youth Fund Opens Applications for Annual $40,000 Grants

The Peel Community Foundation has officially opened applications for the Together for Tomorrow Pinjarra Giving Fund, a significant funding initiative designed to support youth-informed projects. This program aims to enhance connection, capability, and wellbeing for young people in the Pinjarra area, with a focus on grassroots community efforts.

Funding Details and Partnership

The fund will distribute a minimum of $40,000 per year from 2025 through 2027, providing substantial financial backing for initiatives that align with its goals. Grants ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 are available for new or expanded projects. These funds are specifically targeted at not-for-profit organisations with an Australian Business Number (ABN) that are based in Pinjarra and capable of delivering projects within a 12-month timeframe.

This initiative is delivered in partnership with Pinjarra Junction Shopping Centre and local community leaders, highlighting a collaborative approach to community support. According to PCF chair Kristie Tonkin, this partnership underscores the vital role local businesses can play in fostering community wellbeing beyond conventional funding models.

Strategic Vision and Framework

The Together for Tomorrow fund is part of the Peel Community Foundation's broader vision for a thriving, inclusive region powered by a culture of giving. It aligns with the foundation's Three Horizons framework, which emphasises:

  • Listening to youth voices to ensure projects are shaped by community insight.
  • Building skills and leadership among young people to enhance their capabilities.
  • Investing in long-term prosperity to lay foundations for a stronger future in Pinjarra.

Tonkin explained, "Together for Tomorrow is about investing in local ideas that are shaped by youth voice and community insight. With the support of Pinjarra Junction Shopping Centre, we are able to back initiatives that build capability now and lay foundations for a stronger future for Pinjarra’s young people."

Application Process and Encouragement

Applications for the fund will close on March 31, and interested organisations can submit their proposals through the foundation's website at peelcf.com.au/. The Peel Community Foundation encourages prospective applicants to contact them directly to discuss their proposed projects before submission, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. This approach may also lead to partnerships where initiatives share common goals or audiences, further amplifying the impact of the funded projects.

This funding opportunity represents a significant step towards empowering youth and strengthening community bonds in Pinjarra, with a clear focus on sustainable development and inclusive growth.
