Separate Search Operation Scaled Back Near Narooma

In a separate incident, emergency services have scaled back their search for a man who fell from a cliff into the ocean near Narooma on Sunday. The 23-year-old man tripped and fell several metres into the water off Mystery Bay Beach, approximately 12 kilometres south of Narooma.

Search Operation Details

The search began on Sunday evening when the man failed to resurface after the fall. Intensive search efforts continued throughout Monday and into Tuesday, involving multiple emergency service agencies.

At 1:00 PM on Tuesday, the active search was officially scaled back. However, NSW Police Marine Area Command will maintain patrols of the area in the coming days as part of ongoing monitoring operations.

Emergency services personnel expressed their commitment to the search while acknowledging the difficult decision to scale back operations after extensive efforts failed to locate the missing man.

Community Impact

Both incidents have highlighted the importance of community vigilance and the critical role public information plays in missing persons cases. The Woonona disappearance has particularly resonated with local residents, who have been asked to remain alert and report any potential sightings.

Police continue to investigate both matters and encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
