Geelong Dad's Vicious Attack on Mum and Toddler in Norlane Home Invasion
Geelong dad admits attack on mum and toddler

A Geelong father has confessed to a horrifying home invasion that left a mother and her toddler traumatised after he forced his way into their Norlane residence and launched a vicious attack.

The 35-year-old man pleaded guilty in the Geelong Magistrates' Court to multiple charges including assault and unlawful assault after the disturbing incident that unfolded in February.

The court heard how the accused forced entry into the woman's home, immediately becoming aggressive and threatening violence. In a terrifying escalation, the man proceeded to assault the woman while her young child was present in the home.

Most shockingly, the assault extended to the woman's toddler, with the man admitting to unlawful assault against the young child during the same violent episode.

Magistrate Franz Holzer condemned the behaviour as particularly concerning given the presence of a child during the violent outburst. The court acknowledged the traumatic impact such incidents have on vulnerable family members.

The case has been adjourned for sentencing in July, where the man will learn his fate for the disturbing attacks that have shaken the Norlane community.

Local residents have expressed concern about safety in the area, with many calling for stronger measures to protect families from such violent home invasions.

The case continues to highlight the ongoing issue of domestic violence in the Geelong region, with community leaders urging victims to seek help through local support services.
