ACT Policing responded to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at approximately 4:30 PM on Tuesday, February 17. The pedestrian, identified as an 89-year-old man, sustained severe injuries, including head and lower-limb trauma, and was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being transported to hospital in critical condition.
The man succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, February 25, police confirmed. This marks the sixth road fatality recorded in the ACT so far this year, highlighting ongoing safety concerns on local streets.
