Five Women Quit Farmer Wants A Wife After First Taste of Farm Life
Five Women Quit Farmer Wants A Wife After First Farm Visit

The ladies have only just arrived on the farms, but the reality of farm life has already proven too much for five women on Farmer Wants A Wife.

The contestants got their first taste of country life on Sunday night, but before the experience could truly begin, shocking news rocked one farm. All five farmers welcomed their top five ladies to the properties — except one woman never made it there.

Dairy Farmer Jason Left Reeling

Dairy farmer Jason was left reeling after Jessie, 26, from WA, decided not to continue her journey. When he tracked her down for answers, she delivered a bombshell confession: “I’ve wasted your time.”

“Sometimes you think ‘are you good enough?’” Jason said. “I have always had a fear with women not being able to come to the farm or farm life’s not for them. All I can do is just get to know these other four ladies.”

Jessie did not appear on camera but could be heard saying: “I feel like under different circumstances I would have loved to have gotten to know you, but it’s just not the right environment for me.”

Nurse Delia Decides to Leave

During the first elimination, before mushroom and cattle farmer Alex even had the chance to reveal who he was sending home, 29-year-old nurse Delia made the decision to leave the show. She pulled Alex aside for a chat before breaking the news.

“I’m not feeling myself, this isn’t just me,” Delia said. “I could lighten your load and put my hands up, and go home. If I have to force it, it’s not meant for me.” Clearly lost for words, farmer Alex admitted he “didn’t see it coming”.

Another Departure Before the Country Ball

On Monday night, before the country ball kicked off, another of Jason’s ladies revealed she was leaving. Following the previous night’s tense dinner — where Jason chose not to send anyone home — Jessica, 36, from NSW, decided to end her journey.

“Jason and I had a really nice date, but I am quite disappointed. Jason did choose not to send anyone home, so, I’m actually not going to stay,” she said.

Beth Leaves for Her Daughter

Later, in the middle of the country ball, Jason was dealt another blow when 28-year-old Beth — who had formed a strong connection with him during their 24-hour date — became emotional after admitting she was struggling to be away from her daughter. Front-runner Beth, from WA, made the difficult decision to leave the farm.

“I can see a lot of potential in farmer Jason and that’s not something you come across very often. It’s a bit heartbreaking to say goodbye,” Beth said. “I need to go home and be with my daughter who needs me. I have to leave behind the chance of finding love.”

Jessica Struggles with Insecurity

Meanwhile, as the farmers and contestants took to the dancefloor, Jessica, 25, from NSW, found it difficult watching farmer Zac get close with 21-year-old Miranda. “Seeing Zac and Miranda dance together, obviously that’s hard to watch. I’ve been struggling with being insecure and lack confidence,” Jessica said.

When she left the ball in tears, Zac went over to speak with her, where she finally admitted her true feelings. “I think you’re a really good person, but I’m just ready to go,” Jessica said.

Results of the Country Ball

By the end of the country ball, each farmer had chosen one lady for the next solo date:

  • Farmer Alex: Suzannah
  • Farmer Dylan: Scarlett
  • Farmer Jarrad: Yvonne
  • Farmer Jason: Poppy
  • Farmer Zac: Miranda

Farmer Wants A Wife continues 7.30pm Tuesday on Seven and 7plus.
