Peach PRC Cancels Perth and Brisbane Concerts Due to Illness
Pop sensation Peach PRC has been forced to cancel her highly anticipated Perth and Brisbane shows this week after falling ill with the flu. The 28-year-old singer, whose real name is Shaylee Curnow, announced the disappointing news on social media, expressing her devastation at having to let down her fans.
Heartbreaking Announcement from the Artist
In an emotional Instagram post, Peach PRC revealed that she has "come down with the flu" and will not be allowed to travel on doctor's advice. "I am devastated to say that I've come down with the flu and will not be allowed to travel, therefore I can't go ahead with this week's shows," she wrote. "I'm honestly heartbroken, and I hate letting you down."
The Perth show was scheduled for Saturday night at Ice Cream Factory, while the Brisbane concert was set for Thursday. Both events have now been officially cancelled, with all Brisbane ticket holders to be contacted directly regarding refunds.
Hope for Rescheduled Performances
Despite the cancellations, there is some positive news for disappointed fans. Peach PRC indicated she is looking at rescheduling the Perth concert for when she recovers. "Sometimes things happen outside of our control, and I want to put on a show you won't forget," she assured her followers. "I want to give you 100 percent, and I promise I'll be back to see you in Brisbane soon."
The artist promised to share updates about potential rescheduled dates as soon as possible, thanking fans for their understanding and continued support during this difficult time.
Previous Perth Performance Memories
This cancellation comes after Peach PRC's last performance in Perth in 2023, which was a memorable if somewhat chaotic event. During her May show at Astor Theatre, the singer experienced several emotional moments that made the concert particularly memorable:
- She interrupted her own performance of popular tracks "Josh" and "Forever Drunk" with uncontrollable laughter and giggles
- The laughter disrupted both her momentum and the crowd's energy, with one audience member overheard saying, "This is lame"
- Following the concert, Peach apologized to her 268,000 Instagram followers, explaining that a displeased-looking audience member had caused her to lose composure
- She also broke down crying after performing "Dear Inner Child," apparently overwhelmed by the loving response from her enthusiastic fans
Tour Context and Future Plans
The illness comes at an unfortunate time for Peach PRC, whose recent shows in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney went ahead successfully last week and were reportedly some of her biggest Australian performances to date. The artist is currently touring in support of her new single "Miss Erotica," which she has described as signifying the next era of her artistry.
Supporting acts on the tour include Sweden-born, LA-based pop singer Maude Latour and Sydney artist Salty. As of now, Peach PRC has not made a decision about whether her upcoming New Zealand shows in Wellington and Auckland will proceed as planned.
The cancellations highlight the unpredictable nature of touring and the physical demands placed on artists, even as they strive to deliver memorable performances for their dedicated fans.
