Liam Gallagher has condemned a fan who launched a flare into the crowd during Oasis's first Melbourne show in two decades. The incident occurred on Friday night at Marvel Stadium as the band played 'Champagne Supernova'. The frontman waved his finger in disapproval and said 'naughty, naughty' but the band continued playing.
On Saturday morning, Gallagher took to X to call out the fan responsible. 'To the massive C*** who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously f***ed up individual and you will get yours trust me,' he wrote.
Despite the dangerous act, one concertgoer told 7NEWS.com.au that no one seemed worried. 'I was reasonably close to the flare, but no one seemed worried at all. Everyone was too busy belting out the lyrics,' they said.
The show marked Oasis's return to Australia after a 20-year hiatus. Liam opened with a nod to the long break, asking the crowd of over 55,000, 'Are you all right? Did you miss us? We missed you too.' The band performed hits including 'Hello', 'Bring It On Down', and 'Slide Away'.
Super fan Edward Gates, 30, from Melbourne's inner north, secured a front-row spot. He said he had given up hope of ever seeing the brothers reunite. 'I truly just never thought that would happen. We are blessed. The stars have aligned,' he said.
Oasis last performed in Australia in 2005. The band's reunion tour includes two more shows at Marvel Stadium and two shows at Accor Stadium in Sydney on November 7 and 8.
