Yee-Haw Bar Opens in Northbridge with Wild West Themed Launch

Perth's newest country-themed venue, Yee-Haw Bar, has officially opened its doors in Northbridge, taking over the former Jack Rabbit Slim's site at 133 Aberdeen Street. The bar celebrated its debut with a VIP launch on May 7, 2026, welcoming guests to a wild west weekend filled with neon lights and live music.

The multi-level venue features a revived live music stage and dance floor downstairs, while upstairs offers an intimate cocktail lounge inspired by Dolly Parton, named Dolly's Lounge. Attendees dressed in denim, cowboy hats, and boots enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere as they explored the transformed space.

Owner Ben Maher, who also co-founded the American-themed burger chain Varsity Bar, has a personal connection to the address. His father, Bob Maher, was a pioneer of Perth's nightlife scene and converted the old Aberdeen Street post office into a nightclub in the mid-1990s. Ben Maher expressed his long-standing passion for country music, citing its recent resurgence as inspiration for the new venture.
