A 47-year-old man has been charged with three counts of murder after a woman and two children were found dead in a home in Sydney's south-west. Police confirmed the victims were the man's wife and children.
Officers responded to a Triple Zero call at a residence on Raymond Avenue in Campbelltown just before 8pm on Monday. The bodies of a 46-year-old woman, a 12-year-old child, and a 4-year-old child were discovered in different parts of the house.
Acting Superintendent Michael Moroney described the scene as 'particularly violent' with all three victims sustaining significant injuries. No firearms were found, but other items at the scene are being investigated in relation to the injuries.
The accused was arrested and charged on Tuesday. He was not known to police, and there were no prior reports of domestic incidents involving the family. The man has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Campbelltown Local Court.
A crime scene remains in place as police canvass the area and speak with witnesses. Neighbors described the family as keeping to themselves, with the children being polite and well-behaved.
