A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of an eight-week-old infant in Perth. Western Australia police confirmed that Eric Ronald Riley, from the suburb of Innaloo, was formally charged after the baby died on Saturday.
Homicide Squad and Child Abuse Detectives had been investigating an incident earlier this month in which the child sustained serious injuries. The investigation led to the murder charge against Riley.
Riley is currently in custody and will remain there until his next court appearance, scheduled for June. Police have not released further details about the incident or the relationship between the accused and the victim.
