Scary Movie 6, the latest installment in the parody film series that began in 2000, has generated buzz with a viral marketing campaign featuring a bong-shaped popcorn bucket. The bucket, resembling a waterpipe, includes a glass globe bottom, vertical tube, and side stem, designed to hold butter. It comes in four sizes and has been promoted as “the popcorn bucket theatres were never ready for.”
The official Scary Movie account announced the bucket online, sparking excitement and skepticism among fans. One commenter wrote, “This is hilarious, and it’d be awesome if they released these at theatres, but seeing the different sizes at the end leads me to believe it’s not real...” Another asked, “does it really work tho?”
Director Michael Tiddes addressed the doubts in the comments, stating, “Yes... it’s real!” The bucket follows a trend of creative popcorn containers, following viral buckets from Deadpool and Dune movies. However, it is unclear if the bong bucket will be available in Australia.
Scary Movie 6 is set for release in June, and fans will have to wait to see if the bucket hits theaters locally.
