Rebel Wilson has announced the birth of her second daughter, Rose Estelle, just days after appearing in court for a defamation trial. The Australian actor shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a photo of the newborn wrapped in a blanket with a bow.
“What a gorgeous blessing to have another little girl!” Wilson captioned the image. She added, “Ramona and I are feeling so incredibly grateful and blessed to grow our family, thank you everyone for all the well wishes.”
Wilson’s wife, Ramona, announced her pregnancy in December last year, more than three years after the birth of their first child, Royce Lillian. “Cheers to our family!” Ramona wrote at the time.
The birth announcement comes shortly after Wilson was cross-examined in the Federal Court in Sydney as part of a defamation case brought by her colleague, Charlotte MacInnes. MacInnes, the lead actor in the Australian musical The Deb, sued Wilson over social media posts that suggested MacInnes had withdrawn a sexual harassment complaint against a film producer to advance her career. Wilson has maintained during the trial that she is a “truth teller.”
