Pamela Anderson has landed in Sydney ahead of her Australian speaking tour, promising audiences to 'expect the unexpected'. The 58-year-old icon made a beeline for the Royal Botanic Garden upon arrival.
Anderson, who found fame on a beach, is enjoying her time in the sun and says nothing is off limits during her intimate tour. 'I don't know. I haven't planned anything,' she told 7NEWS. 'It's just like another way to reach people, and my sons always encourage me to do these kinds of things.'
Reflecting on her image, Anderson admitted it has sometimes taken on a life of its own. 'Especially in Australia or even the UK, I felt like your image kind of runs away without you, and it becomes a little bit of a cartoon character,' she said. Now she is rewriting the story, fresh-faced and looking forward.
Despite calling time on her career, Anderson has a second shot at Hollywood with six films in the pipeline, including one shot in Australia and an upcoming movie alongside Guy Pearce. However, she admits she still feels nervous in Hollywood circles. 'I'm terrified, walking into those rooms and going through awards season last year with the Last Showgirl,' she said.
Anderson hits the stage in Sydney on Thursday and Melbourne on Friday, with seats still available. 'I don't know where the conversation's going to go ... Expect the unexpected, you never know,' she said.
