The City of Vincent is set to welcome a new 'barcade' on Beaufort Street in Highgate, as a range of nostalgic games prepare to roll through its doors. Level Up Barcade, a licensed entertainment venue at 346 Beaufort Street, combines classic arcade gaming, modern consoles, VR experiences, and tabletop gaming with a full-service bar and themed dining.
According to the business plan, the barcade offers 'one-of-a-kind entertainment' designed for adults seeking social, nostalgic, and interactive experiences, blending gaming with the nightlife scene. The venue will feature retro arcade machines, VR gaming, a tabletop and board game lounge, private karaoke rooms, a licensed bar with themed cocktails, and casual dining with a gamer-inspired menu. Events, tournaments, and private bookings will also be available.
The target market is adults aged 20 to 35, with secondary clients including corporate visitors, birthday groups, tourists, and student unions. Trading hours are set for Tuesday to Thursday from 4pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight, Sunday from 10am to 10pm, and closed on Mondays.
The public comment period for the application has closed, and the proposal will now go before the Vincent council for a decision.
