Man Dragged 800 Metres by Own Car in Sydney Carjacking

A 43-year-old man was seriously injured after being dragged nearly a kilometre by his own car during an alleged carjacking in Sydney's south-west on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 5:30pm when the man was leaving a dog park on River Road in Elderslie.

According to police, the man's clothing became caught in the passenger front door as the alleged carjacker sped off, forcing him to hang on as he was dragged 800 metres. He eventually lost his grip outside a fruit shop in Elderslie.

The victim stumbled into Camden Fruit Barn, where owners Steven Gugliotti and Chris Oliverio were closing up. Oliverio said the man was bleeding and in shock. The pair called Triple-0 and provided assistance until paramedics arrived.
