Jack Russell Rescued From 13th Floor Ledge In Sydney

A missing Jack Russell terrier named Elbie has been rescued after spending two days trapped on a 13-storey ledge at the Meriton Apartments in Dee Why, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Firefighters were called to the scene, with dozens of onlookers watching from below.

Footage shows a firefighter scaling down the building to reach the dog, who was perched on a narrow ledge outside the 13th floor. The rescue took about 20 minutes, with the animal freed from behind a screen approximately 40 metres above the ground.

Once Elbie was freed, she was passed through a window to firefighters inside the building. Cheers of jubilation erupted from the crowd who witnessed the rescue. Elbie’s owner expressed relief, saying, “I was over the moon, you know, I thought I didn’t know how I was going to see her again.”
