Influencer Loses Second Daughter in 20 Months

Melissa Mae Carlton, an influencer, has announced the death of her second daughter, Molly, on Christmas morning. Molly's sister Abigail died in April 2024 at age nine, leaving the family grieving two losses in less than 18 months.

Carlton shared the news on Instagram, posting photos of Molly and writing, 'On Christmas morning, our sweet Molly girl and her big sister Abi were reunited.' She described feeling numb and unable to accept the reality of the loss.

The family, including husband Tom and two other children Harry and Lily, received an outpouring of support. Carlton later updated followers, stating that while an official cause of death is pending, doctors suspect a genetic heart condition may have caused both daughters' deaths.

Carlton explained that Molly was monitored in hospital, providing more insight than was possible with Abigail. She noted that even a minor illness could trigger a sudden cardiac event with such conditions, which are often not survivable.

The influencer shared this information in hopes of helping other families facing sudden child death. She plans further genetic investigation for her family to gain clearer answers.
