Former Neighbours star Holly Valance has publicly declared herself “absolutely right-wing” while attending an anti-immigration rally in London. The 43-year-old actress and singer participated in the “Unite the Kingdom” march on Saturday, organized by far-right extremist Tommy Robinson.
British police estimated the crowd at about 60,000 people. Valance was filmed stating, “Don’t be embarrassed and don’t be too scared to stand up for your country, the place that you love, that’s given you everything, that’s given your freedom.” She added, “Respect it, respect the culture, respect the flag. Don’t be embarrassed to fly the flag. Be patriotic.”
Valance also addressed the term “right-wing,” saying, “I think that’s hilarious that right-wing is supposed to be an insult ... I’m absolutely right-wing. Call me far-right? All right.” She attended the rally with her new partner, former soldier Grant Gale, who previously worked as a bodyguard for her family.
The actress expressed strong support for One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, calling her an “amazing, loving Australian.” In January, Valance collaborated with Hanson on a satirical song titled “Kiss Kiss (XX) My Arse,” a remake of Valance’s hit “Kiss Kiss,” which reached number one on the Australian iTunes chart.
