A young girl was airlifted to hospital after falling from a horse in sand dunes at Fullerton Cove on Saturday, May 2. Emergency services responded to the scene off Coxs Lane around 3:30pm.
According to an Ambulance NSW spokesperson, the girl suffered back and arm pain from the fall. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was deployed, and the girl was treated by paramedics and the helicopter's critical care medical team before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
Separately, the rescue helicopter was also called to a trail bike incident on the same day at Cells River, near Nowendoc, west of Port Macquarie. A man in his 60s sustained multiple injuries and was treated on scene by paramedics before being transported by road to Nowendoc to meet the helicopter's critical care medical team. He was further treated and stabilized before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
