Western Australia Police have charged four individuals in connection with the theft of a delivery truck containing $50,000 worth of goods in Willetton. The white Isuzu truck was stolen on May 5 while a worker was making a delivery on Barbette Road. It was later found abandoned on Brand Road in High Wycombe on May 6, with its cargo of white goods and electronics missing.
The incident gained public attention after police released footage showing a fridge falling from the back of the truck onto a suburban street. Community assistance helped identify a person of interest, who was arrested following a foot chase in Riverton on Friday.
A 42-year-old man from Willetton has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, stealing, no authority to drive, and three counts of possessing a prohibited drug. He was granted bail and is scheduled to appear in Armadale Magistrates Court on June 10.
A 43-year-old man was charged with one count of receiving after police recovered some of the allegedly stolen property during a search of an address in Forrestfield. Additionally, a 56-year-old man from High Wycombe and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with drug-related offences.
