Homicide squad detectives have charged a 60-year-old Geelong man with murder after an 86-year-old man died in hospital this week. The alleged fatal assault occurred in Lethbridge, in the Golden Plains Shire, on August 6.
It is alleged the victim was assaulted at his Burrows Road address about 8pm. Bell Post Hill man Ivan Deak, 60, was charged last night with one count of murder.
Mr Deak has since appeared in the Geelong Magistrates' Court. He has been remanded in custody and will front court again in December.
