Drone Meth Delivery Crashes in Wollongong, Two Arrested

Two men have been charged after police allegedly intercepted a drone used to deliver methylamphetamine to a Wollongong unit complex on Tuesday night. The drone, carrying a green dog waste bag containing 66 grams of meth, crashed into a building, foiling the delivery.

Police were called to a unit in Corrimal Street following reports that Kayd Simpson, 24, and Joshua Dendulk, 43, were allegedly acting suspiciously shortly before midnight. On arrival, officers found the men hiding inside the unit. They claimed they were looking for a drone, which was later found inside with the drugs.

Both men were arrested and charged with supplying more than an indictable quantity of drugs, entering enclosed land, and possessing drugs. They faced virtual Bail Court on Wednesday and were refused bail.

A subsequent raid on Wednesday at a Cliff Road unit, which had been modified with metal and several deadbolts on the front door, allegedly uncovered a baton, an electronic stun device, 42 grams of meth, and $4,350 in cash. Simpson and Dendulk, who have not entered pleas, will appear in court again in May.
