Cody Walker, brother of late Hollywood star Paul Walker, has described the experience of stepping into his brother's iconic role in the Fast & Furious franchise as 'one of the most odd situations you could probably be put in'. Paul Walker died in a car crash in 2013 at age 40, while filming the seventh installment of the series.
Speaking on The Morning Show, Cody recalled the emotional challenge of completing the film as a body double alongside his brother Caleb. 'We were still mourning the loss of our brother,' he said, noting that the four-month shoot took them to the UAE, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. 'There were days when you'd get lost in it... and then you'd feel so guilty because the realisation set in — we're only here doing this because Paul's not here anymore.'
Cody credited the Fast & Furious cast for their support, calling the franchise 'a family'. He now runs Reach Out Worldwide, the charity Paul founded in 2010 after the Haiti earthquakes. The organization provides disaster response, inspired by Paul's hands-on approach. 'He figured, 'If I can help fund this trip and get boots on the ground... that's what I want to do',' Cody explained.
Cody also launched Fuel Fest, a global car culture event celebrating the brothers' shared passion for vehicles. The tour began in Doha, Qatar, and will head to Florida next, with hopes to bring it to Australia.
