Australian animated series Bluey has once again topped the United States streaming charts, claiming Nielsen's most viewed title for the second consecutive year. Americans tuned in to watch 45.2 billion minutes of the show, featuring characters Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli, surpassing medical drama Grey's Anatomy, which recorded 40.9 billion viewing minutes.
The results were announced at the second annual Nielsen ARTEY (Audience Rated Television Entertainment of the Year) awards, named after the TV ratings service founder Arthur C. Nielsen. The data comes from Nielsen's streaming insights, which revealed that audiences streamed an estimated 16.7 trillion minutes in total, equivalent to about 31.7 million years. This represents a 19 percent increase in streaming time compared to 2024, marking the most heavily streamed year on record.
Bluey's win also beat cult favorite Stranger Things, which released its highly anticipated fifth and final season last year. Stranger Things ranked third with 40 billion streaming minutes. The ARTEY awards recognized eight titles, and a newly introduced category, Streaming Icon of the Year, was awarded to Seth MacFarlane for his roles in Family Guy, American Dad!, The Naked Gun, Ted, Ted 2, and A Million Ways to Die in the West, among others.
Brian Fuhrer, SVP Product Strategy at Nielsen, commented on the awards, stating, 'The ARTEY Awards give us a chance to have a little more fun with the data categories by acknowledging how consumers are engaging with shows and movies.' He added, 'While there are some expected winners, there are always some surprises and new entrants that have captured the imagination of viewers. What is undeniable is the trajectory of streaming, and the increasing appetite for content of all kinds.'
