Supermodel Anok Yai has publicly denied a Washington Post article that suggested she ripped her outfit and wet herself at the 2024 Met Gala. The article, published last week, explored how celebrities manage bathroom breaks in elaborate attire, citing an anonymous anecdote from celebrity stylist Mickey Freeman.
Freeman described a client who wore a sheer mesh jumpsuit adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls, and who was sewn into the garment, later forgetting about the zipper after having drinks. The Post identified Yai as the model based on her outfit matching the description.
Yai took to Instagram to refute the claims, stating, 'How dare you misalign my character and imply that I ripped my outfit and peed on myself during the Met Gala of 2024!' She challenged the Post to provide photographic evidence of any such incident.
Freeman later clarified on Instagram that Yai was not the client he referred to, emphasizing he has never worked with her. He called the situation 'a hilarious non-story' and expressed admiration for Yai.
The Washington Post has since removed Yai's name from the article and added a correction, noting that Freeman said he did not work with the model and her name has been removed.
