Amy Schumer Addresses Instagram Cleanse Following Weight Loss

Amy Schumer has responded to speculation after deleting all old photos from her Instagram account, clarifying that the move was not related to her weight loss. The actress and comedian shared new images on Thursday showing her in a strapless red Maison Valentino dress, but all prior posts had been removed.

In a follow-up post, Schumer explained that she did not delete the photos because she was unhappy with her previous appearance. “I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight,” she wrote. “That’s a narrative you created. I’m proud of how I’ve looked always.”

Schumer revealed that her health has improved, noting that her endometriosis symptoms have lessened and her face has returned to normal after no longer having Cushing syndrome. She emphasized that her focus has been on health rather than intentional weight loss. “I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son,” she said.

The comedian also acknowledged that her weight will fluctuate due to perimenopause and medication. She urged followers to practice self-love and kindness, stating, “Your Instagram is not your identity, it’s a curation of what you want the world to see.”

Schumer has been open about her weight loss journey, including undergoing liposuction in 2022 and trying weight-loss drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro. She described her experience with Mounjaro as positive, while Wegovy caused nausea and a feeling of “shrivelling away.”
