Geelong's justice system saw another busy day of proceedings on Wednesday as multiple defendants faced the magistrate for various alleged offences across the region.
Violent Offences Before the Court
Several individuals faced serious charges related to violent conduct. A Norlane man, 36, appeared charged with assault and criminal damage following an alleged incident in Corio. Meanwhile, a Grovedale woman, 42, faced the court over assault-related matters.
In another concerning case, a Highton man, 29, answered to charges including unlawful assault and intentionally causing injury after an alleged altercation in Newtown.
Property and Theft-Related Matters
The court also dealt with multiple property offences. A Whittington man, 31, faced charges of theft and handling stolen goods related to incidents in Geelong West. In a separate matter, a Belmont woman, 45, appeared over shoplifting allegations from a central Geelong retail store.
Another case involved a Corio man, 38, charged with burglary and theft following investigations into break-ins across northern suburbs.
Traffic and Driving Offences
Road safety matters featured prominently on Wednesday's docket. A Lara man, 41, faced charges of drink-driving and driving while suspended after being intercepted on the Princes Highway.
In a separate traffic matter, a Newcomb woman, 34, appeared charged with unlicensed driving and using an unregistered vehicle in St Albans Park.
