Brooklyn Beckham's DoorDash Ad Sparks Family Feud Speculation
Brooklyn Beckham's DoorDash Ad Sparks Family Feud

Brooklyn Beckham's latest move has been widely interpreted as a swipe at his famous footballer father and the ongoing rift within his family. The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham has appeared in a new advert for food delivery service DoorDash focused around the FIFA World Cup.

DoorDash Ad Highlight

“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It’s a long story,” Brooklyn said in the advert. He then gets off the couch and places a stack of tickets on the table beside a DoorDash bag. The video cuts to a title card that reads: “It’s complicated. More soon.” DoorDash left its own comment on the clip, implying Brooklyn was watching the game from home to avoid his family: “We have a guess on why you’re watching from home…”

Public Reaction

Many comments on the video appear to defend David and Victoria, with some accusing Brooklyn of profiting on his estrangement from the rest of his family. The adverts release follows his parent’s appearance at Friday’s World Cup match in Los Angeles, shortly after Sir David’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by Victoria and their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, but Brooklyn was notably absent.

Family Absence

Tom Cruise, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham attend the World Cup match between the United States and Paraguay in LA. David Beckham’s family supported him during his Walk of Fame ceremony but eldest son Brooklyn was absent. Shortly afterwards, Page Six reported that Brooklyn’s 14-year-old sister was photographed visiting his and Nicola Peltz-Beckham’s Beverly Hills home carrying what appeared to be a letter. According to the US outlet, Harper was still wearing the same pink dress she had worn to her father’s ceremony and left shortly afterwards without seeing her brother, who was in New York at the time.

Brooklyn's Response

Brooklyn has since responded to the visit. “That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras,” a rep for Brooklyn told Page Six. Rumours of a Beckham family feud first emerged in 2022 when Brooklyn’s now-wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, chose not to wear a wedding gown custom-made by Victoria.

Ongoing Feud

Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz remain estranged from the Beckhams. While it initially appeared the family had moved on from the tension, speculation reignited as Brooklyn was repeatedly absent from major family events. As fans and media continued to question the state of their relationship, Brooklyn eventually posted a six-page social media statement in January announcing he had cut ties with his family.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he said. Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling media narratives about the family and prioritising the family’s public image over genuine family love. “Performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” Brooklyn wrote. “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”
