Ariana Grande Mocks Failed Marriage with Cheeky Gesture on Tour
Ariana Grande Mocks Failed Marriage on Tour

Ariana Grande playfully referenced her failed marriage to ex-husband Dalton Gomez during the opening night of her Eternal Sunshine tour in Oakland, California. The singer, performing for the first time in seven years, made a cheeky gesture while singing her 2019 hit Thank U, Next, a song known for name-dropping her past relationships.

The lyrics include the lines, 'One day I’ll walk down the aisle / Holding hands with my mama … Only wanna do it once, real bad / Gon’ make that last.' After singing 'Only wanna do it once, real bad,' Grande held up two fingers and laughed, subtly acknowledging that she might be open to remarrying after her divorce.

Emotional Return to the Stage

Grande broke down in tears during the concert, thanking her fans for their support. 'I missed you,' she said as the audience cheered. 'It’s very overwhelming, so thank you so much for all of your love.'

The Eternal Sunshine tour marks Grande’s return to live performances after a seven-year break. The singer finalized her divorce from Gomez in March 2024 after three years of marriage. As part of the settlement, Grande made a one-time payment of $1.25 million to Gomez and agreed to split proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home, plus cover up to $25,000 in legal fees.

Lyrical Jabs on New Album

Grande also seemingly called out Gomez on her song Twilight Zone from her 2025 album Eternal Sunshine. The lyrics include, 'Did I dream the whole thing? / Was I just a nightmare? / Different dimensions / Stuck in the twilight zone,' and 'Hope you win for Best Actor / ’Cause I had you completely wrong.'

Grande is currently dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, with whom she has been linked since July 2023.
